“AN OBJECTIVE IS AN AMBITION, AND LIFE WITHOUT AMBITION IS ... WELL, AIMLESS WANDERING”
Fueled by an energy for new experience, physical and mental challenges and a love of the outdoors. Myself (Chris), Jonty and Sam have teamed up to take on Wainwrights Way.
The event was largely born of boredom to be honest. Jonty and I were stuck up in Harrogate during the lock-down twiddling thumbs, much like many of us around the world. We’re both the energetic sort and don’t fair particularly well with nout on the agenda.
…So we started running…
Our training started hard and fast. Within weeks we were taking on our first half marathon in the dales, enjoying the intermittent sunshine and country air. Why we hadn’t started this earlier is beyond the pair of us.
The British Isles has so much to offer, from the meandering coast lines of Cornwall to the dramatic peaks of the Scottish highlands. The opportunities on our door step for adventure, exploration and space, something we need yet, value so little, in our eyes, is second to none.
So, with the help of Sam, friends and family we plan to embark on a 192 mile journey across England. Our journey starts on the west coast of Cumbria, St Bees. From there we’ll travel across 3 national parks to the east, The Lake District, an area of outstanding natural beauty, The Yorkshire Dales, a region we know and love, and the Yorkshire Moors. We will run an average of 28.5 miles a day for 7 consecutive days, collecting rubbish wherever we find it along the way.
Our aim is to open your eyes to the beauty of Britain, the consequences of our actions on our planet, the benefits of a plant based life style and to raise a little money for our select charities.
We hope you’ll find it in your heart to support us on our epic journey. Here's three of our reasons to chase a change......
We’ve a long standing passion for our planet. Born primarily from a love of the great outdoors but heightened by the levels of degradation incurred globally in our lifetime. We believe passionately that through inclusivility, awareness and education that we, and all of you, can help to make a difference
A PLANT BASED LIFESTYLE
WE’RE NOT ALL BAD HONEST…
We 3 love a plant based feed. We’ve a consciousness on the topic and recognize the tangible benefits to making such a simple and easy change to our lifestyle. For Chris the change was largely environmental, for Jonty and Sam it was the unjust treatments of animals, for all of use its about chasing positive change.
HELP US OUT
In order to meet our own needs without tarnishing the opportunities of future generations we must operate sustainably. Sustainability can be found in many forms, for us, its about reducing our mark on the trail. By purchasing environmentally conscious clothing, bio degradable packaging and litter picking along the way, we WILL be sustainable
